Slander, Old trick of human

Lord may look upon my affliction and the Lord will give me good for his cursing this day. (2 Samuel 16:12)

Slander is a false accusation made maliciously. Almost always accompanied by the injury. It is an evil man, not between the animal cases of libel, is present only among human beings.

examine the slander that King David faced. Read 2 Samuel 16:5-8

And King David came to Bahurim and behold one of the family left the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei son of Gera, and left cursing and throwing

stones at David, and all the servants of King David, and all the people and all the mighty men were on the right and left.

And Shimei said, cursing:! Out, out, bloody and wicked man!

Lord has given you the payment of all the blood in the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned, and the Lord hath delivered the kingdom into the hand your son Absalom, and lo and behold surprised at your evil, for you man of blood.

Undoubtedly this was a bad time for slander. There is a proverb that says "bad all the finger sticks."

How was David at the time?

And David went up the hill of Olives, and went out weeping, carrying his head covered and bare feet. Also all the people that were with him covered every man his head, and they were crying as they went . (2 Samuel 15:30)

- His son Absalom rebels, gives a coup and seeks to kill him.

- People you trust betrays (Ahithophel-2 Samuel 15:31 / realize Mephibosheth-2 Samuel 16:3)

In this time of great vulnerability and emotional fragility, is a calumny.

"Responsible for the death of Saul?

bad Did you try David Saul? Forgot

people what they did for Mephibosheth?

there Was I to blame for the vengeance of the Gibeonites? (See 2 Samuel 21:1)

Shimei accused David of being a wicked = wicked = son of belial. But also cursed King.

How to react to an attack? Even witnesses were outraged and sought permission from David to defend (Abishai - 2 Samuel 16:9)

What should be the reaction of a Christian to a slander of such magnitude?

We must ask God to help us control our character. There are many people who are volatile. They are like matches, that little light up.

The Bible teaches in Luke 6:28, how to behave as a follower of Jesus in such moments.

bless them that curse you, pray for those who mistreat you

Jesus taught and lived. 1 Peter 2:22-23

who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth;

who when he was reviled, did not revile: when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

Blessed are we when for their cause insult.

Matthew 5:11-12 Blessed are you when my cause revile and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you

In Proverbs 20:22 is an interesting warning about vengeance.

not say: I will recompense evil;
Wait for the Lord, and He will save.

Something like the Apostle Paul teaches us in Romans 12:19

not avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God. Vengeance is yours. David

applied these principles and fully trusted that God would judge his cause.

Because I hear the slander of many;
Fear haunt me everywhere,
counsel together against me while I devise
take my life.

But I trust in you, O Lord;
I say: You are my God.

In your hand are my times;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and my persecutors.

and also showed that he knew God.

Lord may look upon my affliction and the Lord will give me good for his cursing this day. (2 Samuel 16:12)

God can disrupt the malevolent plans for our blessing. Jose's case confirms the wonderful work of God.

You meant evil against me but God meant it unto good, to bring about this day, to save much people alive. (Genesis 50:20)

If any conspirare against you, you do without me conspirare that against you, before you fall. (Isaiah 54:15)

David was satisfied that Word. I do not think it has been more than a few days when the "expected" occurs.

and crossed the ford to go to the king's family, and to do what he appears. Then Shimei son of Gera fell down before the king when he had crossed the Jordan,

and said to King: Do not blame me my lord of evil, neither do thou remember the evils which thy servant did the day that my lord the king left Jerusalem; not keep the king in his heart.

For thy servant I acknowledge that I have sinned, and I've come today first of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king.

We can not stop people talking. For one reason or another we are all likely to be victims of slander. Let us beware of not paying our mouths to slandering anyone. May the Lord put the brakes on our lips to never slander.

not react as people do not know God. And let us trust our Lord to work.
